Cabaret is a period drama set in Calcutta and other parts of West Bengal in 1960’s and ’70s. This is an unusual love story of a Cabaret Dancer Miss Elina and a Naxalite Militant Swarup dramatically wrapped under contemporary radical politics, social hierarchy, class struggle and human relationship. It is not only an emotional journey of a young girl from a remote village to claim the crown of the Cabaret queen of Calcutta but it also unfolds the poignant story of love, passion, family, emotion, politics, revenge and most importantly of different human conditions.
