Dabaghor
Political thriller 'Dabaghor' debuts on 23 September on Bangladeshi streaming platform Bongo, promising a gripping exploration of corruption, betrayal and moral ambiguity. The film follows Ramisa Rahman (Nigar Sultana Mimi), the daughter of a powerful businessman, as she navigates international intrigue when entrusted with a pen drive exposing a syndicate that has allegedly siphoned off 2,17,000 core BDT in black money to banks in Europe, America, and beyond. Under the direction conceived by Subrina Islam Nadia, Dabaghor pits Ramisa, her journalist friend Arif Khan, the ruthless tycoon Zahir Chowdhury (Shadhin Khasru), and his conflicted lieutenant Madhab Roy (Imtiaz Ronnie) in a dangerous game of cat and mouse. The story builds through intense confrontations, betrayals and mounting tension to a finale in which justice may finally catch up with untouchable power. Director Syed Sahil spoke of having seen evidence of corruption on a staggering scale. So much of corruption money has been flowing to Europe and America for years. People have even offered me deals for money laundering. I drew this web film on my own practical experience," he said. Audiences streaming Dabaghor can expect not only drama and thriller tropes but also a detailed look at how money laundering works, how corrupt networks settle abroad, and the personal costs of seeking truth.
